  Your first choice if you want your kids to grow in the Jewish environment in Riga. Not the best academically but still decent for a public school. Yes, it's a public school funded by the state so anyone can apply regardless of the background. Also, it's the best school for first graders because of the attitude on the part of the teachers. Younger children are loved and treated with respect so it's a smooth transition into the school life. Some of my friends re-assigned their kids to Dubnov School from other schools better academically. The current principle is both a professional and a lovely person so the school has much potential. Unlike many other schools in Riga.
