::An interesting building with great exhibition of art noveau. permanent exhibition is good however in all the rooms the labels on the items are written in extremely small print and you need to get on your knees roread some. Really impacted the visit

::While not the largest museum, it is a beautiful space, with the western paintings area in a room with beautiful gilded statues around the edge of the ceiling. At the time of writing there is a nice art nouveau exhibit. The non-European art was sparse, but included a mummy of a Theban priest, a gigantic Japanese sword with an impressive ivory handle and sheath and a large collection of Roman coins.

::The building has been renovated and the building alone is enough reason to visit. I have been in many of the temporary expositions and liked them a lot , but recently I visited the permanent exposition and I have to say I am disappointed by the illumination. The lights are placed in such a way that you cannot see the painting, when you stand in front of it. Out of that it is ok.

::Really nice temporary exhibition of contemporary statues and related items. The permanent exhibition is also interesting to visit, containing mostly paintings but also some silverware and objects. Takes about 1h30 to visit all. Combination ticket for temporary and permanent is 6 euro, 3 for students. This was a highlight of my visit to Riga, one of the best musuems for sure.

::It is really a pleasure to visit this museum because everything is so new and well-made. Building is really pretty and after reconstruction is surely one of the most beautiful places in Riga. Permanent expositions are really awesome and will appeal to any taste. You can not only see wonderful paintings, but also such staff as ivory Japan sculptures, viking-era dresses and even a real mummy! Totally recommend it if you fancy visiting a museum!
