  The food was excelent. The service perfect. The interior was good however the spacing between tables could be bit bigger as it felt bit crowded especially when some bit dissy Swedes behind you behaved bit louder than they should be.

  Cod is primarily a japanese restaurant, and a very fine one. But my favorite part is the bar downstairs. Great choice of drinks, professional bartenders and very nice vibe. Cocktail prices a little above average, but for the place and the quality - sooo worth it!

  THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE DOWNSTAIRS BAR ONLY: a cool alternative to the Cloud-Nines and Left-Doors for those who crave something less conventional - great selection of authentic Japanese liqueurs (sake and also stronger drinks), Japan-themed-cocktails, indie anime projected on the wall, knowledgeable and friendly barmen.

  A very welcome cuisine arrived in Riga - too bad the service does not live up to it. I’ve reviewed just about every lousy standard sushi bar here in Riga. Very pathetic. I am spoiled living in New York and also have lived in Tokyo. There is no place that comes even close like COD does- it’s great. Fabulously tasty kaiseiki style dishes with a good variety. Nice bar downstairs with a selection of sakes and Japanese whiskies, which I favor. But the service needs to catch up with the great food and nice subtle decor. Waitress was nice enough but paid little to no atention, pathetically asking us if we wanted desert after ignoring our side of the room fir the last half hour! Work on it folks! I’ll be back. And I might not be this nice!!

  おしゃれな日本の居酒屋な雰囲気。料理の見た目も素晴らしく日本的だが味はもう一歩。串焼きは全体的に塩気がない。てりやきの味も薄く、もっと甘く濃い味付けにしたら完璧だと思う。 It is a very typical Japanese dining. Atmosphere and appearance of dishes are quite perfect! But tastes need to be more improved. The taste was a bit week for Japanese. It is better to be more thick(salty). especially Teriyaki need to be more sweet.
